We inspire integration to achieve cohesion.  Cohesive Society is an NGO based in the UK, which works on projects across the United Kingdom promoting community cooperation between marginal communities and the wider society.

We believe migrant communities should thrive within British culture. We therefore encourage people to improve their English and communication skills. We also support individuals from ethnic minority communities – especially women.

Connecting diverse communities, building brighter futures Our vision We empower young people from ethnic minority backgrounds to reach their full potential, free from the stigma of racism. We encourage them to reject extremism and contribute to creating prosperous and well integrated communities.

The majority of our projects focus on people of Bangladeshi backgrounds, as they are among the most vulnerable and marginalised ethnic groups in the UK. About Us The Centre for Policy, Promotion and Prevention is an NGO based in the East Midlands, which works on projects across the United Kingdom.

Social or Environmental Mission

For more than ten years, we have used a social enterprise model to promote cohesion, integration and cooperation between marginalised communities and wider society. We believe migrant communities should thrive within British culture. We therefore encourage people to improve their English and communication skills. We also support individuals from ethnic minority communities – especially women – to develop their vocational skills, so that they can achieve their employment potential.

We value the insight of religious leaders who provide spiritual guidance and help people understand their history and culture. We also actively support interfaith initiatives based on shared objectives and common values. How we work During our meetings with young people, we take a practical and hands-on approach. We address their concerns and speak their language.

We run workshops, courses and interactive learning sessions for young men and women. We place particular emphasis on teamwork and tolerance. Our events directly tackle social problems which affect young people in marginalised communities, such as drugs and knife crime, online sexual exploitation and the lure of religious extremism. Through mentoring and by offering positive role models, we have inspired many young people to develop a more balanced outlook, which guides them towards affirmative life choices.
